From Zagreb to the Adriatic Sea by car is easy

Only 2 hours on the highway from Zagreb towards Rijeka, among the mountains with coniferous forests, you will reach the picturesque island KRK. A favorite place for tourists, the island is connected to the mainland by a 1500 m arch bridge.
The observation deck with a parking lot to the right of the bridge offers a magnificent view of the Gulf of Rijeka, coastal towns of Opatija and Omišalj. And then, you can go along the coast and stay overnight in one of the sea towns - Njivica, Malinska, Vrbnik, which will give you an unforgettable experience.
It's nice to sunbathe on the beach for a couple of days in the summer, swim in the clearest sea with sea urchins and flocks of fish. In the cool season, leisurely walks along the captivating Adriatic coast with cozy cafes near the water are waiting for you.
From Zagreb, it is easy to get to Plitvice Lakes - National Park of Croatia with relic coniferous and beech forests, emerald lakes, beautiful caves and multilevel waterfalls. 130 km by car, and you will find yourself in the realm of unique nature.

Parking in Zagreb
Partially on all streets of Zagreb, parking is paid. The cost of parking depends on the distance zone (1, 2, 3) from the city center and differ in the color of the road sign:
- red - the maximum allowable parking time is 1 hour;
- yellow - the maximum allowed time is 2 hours;
- green - the time spent in the parking lot is 3 hours or more.
The cost of street parking ranges from 5 kunas (zone 3) to 15 kuna (1 zone). Parking spaces are often free on weekends.
Parking spaces are equipped with parking meters that accept coins for payment. The ticket should be placed on the inside of the car on the windshield so that it is clearly visible. There are alternative payment options:
- payment via SMS indicating the car number - you can pay for 1 hour, after this time you need to send a new SMS;
- payment through PayDo and Aircash applications to which you need to link your card; Instructions are posted at the parking lot.
Indoor parking lots are popular in Zagreb, at the entrance to which there are signs with the tariff and the number of common and free places. In the center there are several large parking lots where you can always find a place for a rented car:
